The Brewers Playoff Scenario

The Brewers clinched home field advantage for the Divisional Series yesterday, but instead of facing the Braves as earlier thought, they will be facing the D-Backs in what should be a series that comes down to the final game. The Cardinals will be playing the Phillies in the the other series. So all the playoff series are shaping up to be good series. The Brewers play there first game against the D-Backs on Sunday. I'll keep you updated. Let's get some comments!!

Mets make interesting call

The New York Mets decided to pull Jose Reyes after he got a hit in his very first at bat today. This is because they did not want to affect his average because they wanted him to win the title. I think it was a very un-classy move by the Mets manager, because now it will be very tough for him to lose. For this reason, I do not think Reyes deserves it, and because of the fact that he's played 20 less games the Ryan Braun. Braun will need at least a 3-4 night to win the batting title. If he goes 3-5, he loses.

Crew Pulls Out Victory

The Brewers won another close game tonight, 6-4. Latroy Hawkins won the game, with the losing pitcher being Jared Hughes for the Bucs. John Axford finished it off for his 46th save of the season. Prince Fielder was by far the MVP of the night, leading the Crew with 3! home runs. The Crew will have to wait for the results of the D-Backs-Dodgers game before they know if they have home field advantage in the playoffs. If you want to keep updated on the score, here's a link: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2011_09_27_pitmlb_milmlb_1&mode=gameday&c_id=mil#gid=2011_09_27_lanmlb_arimlb_1&mode=gameday. The two teams are currently tied right now at 0-0. In other news around the league, the Cardinals are currently leading 13-6 in the bottom of the ninth, and the Braves lost, so the Cardinals should move into a tie with the Braves for the Wild Card. In the AL, the Red Sox and the Rays won, so they will remain tied for the Wild Card.

Brewers/Pirates Game 2

Last night the Brewers lost in a high scoring affair to the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 8-7. Tonight they go back at it at Miller Park against the Pirates with Randy Wolf squaring off against  Ross Ohlendorf for the Pirates. The Diamondbacks lost last night to the Dodgers, so the Brewers have kept there one game lead for home field advantage. With a Brewers win tonight and a D-Backs loss, the Brewers will clinch the 2 seed and home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Brewers lineup does not include Nyger Morgan in CF, instead it will be Jerry Harriston getting the start. George Kottaras will be catching Randy Wolf as normal and batting 8th.

Brewers Win Again!

The Brewers completed a sweep of the Florida Marlins tonight, with Chris Narveson getting the win and the loss going to Ricky Nolasco. The Crew scored 3 runs in the second inning, and then added 4 more in the 3rd, to start off the blowout. Ryan Braun hit another home run, and is still in the lead for the NL batting crown with his average at .333. His MVP case keeps getting better and better. Milwaukee has now swept the season series against the Marlins, going 7-0 this year. The Brewers also set the team record for most home wins in a season at 55. The Diamondbacks also won today so Milwaukee remains a game ahead of them for home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Brewers face the Pittsburgh Pirates at Miller Park tomorrow as Shawn Marcum takes on Charlie Morton.
